Walter community College is one of the projects of Bridge of Hope, which is a Non Government Organization being registered under Societies Act of XXI 1860 – Society No 58 of 1990 having different projects to help the community to develop.
Location
Walter Community college is located on the national highway 43 at Gotlam village 7 K.M away from Vizianagaram town, in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.
Whom our college is for?
WCC Covers Students who are not able to study further after Class 10th and intermediate fail or discontinued due to their economical conditions from rural places.
Hostel Facility
WCC has hostel facility for 20 boys and 25 girl students.
Our Focus
We focus mainly on neglected and under privileged students with a special preference for students from rural and tribal areas.
Our support
We provide financial support in the form of fees, travel allowance.
Background of our college:
To address the issue of rural unemployment, Bridge of Hope initiated an informal training in Type Writing for the rural youth in the year 1996 Young people from the villages utilized this opportunity to learn the skill and have become self employed. With the increasing demand for skill training among the rural youth a new separate building was constructed with hostel facility the vocational training was started in the month of August 2003. Vocational training Centre offers courses like commercial tailoring for girls, plumbing and welding for boys. In the year 2009, the Vocational Training Centre in collaboration with IID, Chennai has been upgraded to Community College.
In the year 2009 Vocational training Center was re -named as WALTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
