Ramadevi.Penki

I am Ramadevi.Penki from Thallapudipeta. My father works as laborer at a small bricks making unit. The work is very hard and wages are very low. I am good at studies but could not continue my studies due to economical poverty. Though I have a strong desire to support my family I did not know how?

To support my family I started going as a laborer to pick up the mangoes in the summer season. It was very hard and seasonal so I searched for a permanent solution. At that time I came to know about Vocational Training Centre, Gotlam and  I approached.

The Training changed my fortune. At the time of getting relieved from the college in 2009 they provided me Training certificate and Sewing machine. With that I started stitching the garments at home in my village. It is very much profitable and other village people also come to for stitching. I am able earn 150 rupees per day. Now I am able to support my family and save 50 percent of my earnings in Agri Gold (Saving scheme) for my marriage. I have great satisfaction in helping my parents from my earnings. My skill is getting improved and confidence level is also increased.

I am ever grateful to the Vocational Training Centre for their care and nurture which enable me to stand by my own with great confidence about the future.

Santhoshkumari.Karumajji

I am Santhoshkumari.Karumajji, when I was in 5th class my father died due to Tuberculosis (TB). I have one younger brother. Due to my father’s death my mother struggled a lot to provide food and education. When she works only, we used to have two meals in a day. In this meanwhile I wrote my 10th class exams and could not pass it was due to my family not able to provide minimum needs like study material and proper food.

So my life had become depressed with no hope on future. But fortunately I got the opportunity to join in VTC at Gotlam. When the authorities came to know about my family’s miserable condition, they immediately had given me admission into Tailoring.

By God’s abundant grace I finished my course in 2010. Now I am able to support my family and helping my brother to continue his studies.

Tailoring skill shaped me and given a meaning to my life. Once I used to be afraid of what would be my future but now I have the confidence that I can face the future. This training enabled me to mingle friendly with others wherever I am placed.

My name is Appalanaraya.Thallapudi. I lost my parents during my childhood. When my parents got sickness having no access to proper medication they lost their lives. I have three brothers and one sister. I studied 10th and passed. Afterwards I could not go to college due to financial problem.

In that pathetic condition I did not know what to do. So at that time my friends told me about Vocational Training Centre at Gotlam and I joined with an interest to learn some skill to take care of myself and support my family. By God’s grace I could successfully completed the course. Now I am using Sewing Machine given by the institution and gaining 60 to 70 rupees per day and during festival season more than a hundred and fifty rupees.

I thank the Community college for providing the courage and support to lead the life with confidence. They treated me like their own daughter when I was in the Vocational Training Centre.

Lavanya

I am Lavanya, eldest of the three children in the family. My father left the family few years back, so the entire burden to raise us is on my mother’s shoulders. I had passed 10th class but due to economical conditions we could not afford the formal higher education.

That’s why I joined Community college of Bridge of Hope, Gotlam. I had completed 1 year diploma in 2009 in computer applications and stood as a Topper in the DCA course.  Soon after my course I got an opportunity to work in one of the prestigious computer labs in the Vizianagaram town. The teachings and campus environment at Community College gave me opportunity to develop as a matured and responsible young girl. Now I am able to lead an independent and dignified life. Now I am able to support my younger sister and younger brother for their education. I am excelling in my work and aspire to specialize in multimedia technologies.
